Day 1-2: Setting Out

Day 1-2: Monday-Tuesday, January 4-5, 2010. Location: Sea-Tac (rainy and 40s) and London (high clouds and 30s); Lectures: Introduction to the Course and to Epistemology; Major sites visited: None—just general looking around; Meals together: Dinner and breakfast on plane, dinner at Wagamama’s near the British Museum

We met at Sea-Tac airport, excited and ready to go. Our little group consists of 18 students: Andrea Ansari, Mitchell Bailey, Alyson Cole, Nicholas Gallagher, Kara Heatherly, Cody Hines, Kaytlyn Holm, Aaron Korthuis, Abby Langbehn, Kyle Lindgren, Morgan McQuilken, Ann Merrriman, Andrew Ritchie, Elizabeth Seccomb, Shane (Daniel) Shettler, Jay Stahlman, Heather Wallace, Chelsea Zink; and 1 professor: Forrest Baird. We made our way through the maze of check-in, beefed-up security, and the subway to the South Terminal. We were on the same plane with Rick Hornor's London group.

After landing we collected our luggage (which all arrived!) and took the London Connect to our hotel near Paddington Station. After getting checked in, we took off to see a bit of the sights. We started by getting our Tube/Bus passes and then took the Underground to Tottenham Court. We were all hungry and cold, so we went to Wagamama’s for some warming food. After getting filled up, we walked part way down Oxford Street to enjoy the crowds before grabbing a double-decker bus back to Paddington. At that point we split up with some going to get some groceries for snacks, others heading for email cafes, and most going back to the hotel to sleep.
